ನಾಯಕಿ ಮದುಶರ್ಮ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಹುಡುಗನನ್ನೇ ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು ಎಂದಿರುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಆದರೆ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ನಾಯಕ ಕಾರ್ತೀಕ್ ನನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಆದರೆ ನಂತರ ಆತ ಬಡವ ಎಂದು ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಿ ದೂರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ನಾಯಕ ಆಕೆಯ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಗೆದ್ದು ದುಡ್ಡಿಗಿಂತ ಮನಸ್ಸೆ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಎಂದು ನಾಯಕಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ಅವಳ ಕೈ ಹಿಡಿಯುವುದು ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಕಥೆ.
