పదవ తరగతి పాస్ అయిన చిరంజీవి అనే పెద్ద భూస్వామికి నీలిమతో కళ్యాణం జరుగుతుంది.నీలిమ చిరంజీవితో రియల్ ఎస్టేట్ వ్యాపారం చేయిస్తుంది.అందులో బాగా నష్టం రావడంతో చిరంజీవి భూమిని మొత్తం కోల్పోతాడు.తద్వారా ఇరువురి మద్య విబేధాలు రావడం తో తన భర్తను,కుమారుడు విశ్వనాథ్ ను వదిలి పట్టణానికి వెళ్ళిపోతుంది.విశ్వనాథ్ కి మెరుగైన విద్యను అందించడానికి చిరంజీవి ఎలాంటి కష్టాలు పడ్డాడు ? చివరకు నీలిమ చిరంజీవి ఎలా ఒక్కటయ్యారు అనేదే కథాంశం.

An illiterate man sells his land on his educated wife's insistence but ends up losing money in shares. When his wife abandons them, he moves to the city and struggles to educate his son.
